Aquaspawner 100 zebrafish embryo spawning chamber

Because zebrafish spawn naturally in shallow areas, the egg collection boxes are mounted on a center standpipe and tilted so the water level in the AquaSpawner reaches just to the top of the boxes. On the flip side, the entire internal spawning apparatus can be completely removed, leaving a deep tank with no corners or shallows to encourage unwanted early spawning.

The AquaSpawner is a dedicated breeding chamber connected to an Aquaneering recirculation system to maintain optimum water quality, unlike separate static crossing tanks which have been shown to build up ammonia over 24 hours. The AquaSpawner self-cleans by flushing fish solid waste through the removable standpipe and bottom drain. Egg trays can be individually removed and replaced to provide precisely timed intervals of spawning. Chamber components are easily disassembled for ease of cleaning or disinfection
Pre-conditioned adults can be selected from tanks on the system and combined for bulk embryo production. Up to 800 adult fish can be held in the chamber for multiple weeks and kept on an “On/Off-Light Cycle” using the built-in LED lighting and timer for scheduled embryo collection. There is no need to separate males and females in the chamber.

On days that embryos are required, the frame and egg traps can be set in place the night before to allow spawning in the morning shortly after the lights turn on.
