Inscopix

nVista 2P Miniscope

The NEW nVista® 2P miniscope utilizes two-photon technology to perform neural circuit imaging at higher resolution and greater depths than one-photon techniques during freely-behaving tasks. With over a decade of miniscope design expertise, Inscopix has developed a mobile system with a miniaturized microscope that weighs only 2.2 grams. This high-performance fluorescence imaging solution enables researchers to target all regions of a rodent’s brain using the same techniques as one-photon experiments, but with the additional benefits of two-photon optics.

Only nVista 2P delivers:

  • Increased resolution for better cell identification and registration over time
  • Optimized workflows that integrate with the Inscopix ecosystem of lenses and software solutions
  • Comprehensive support, from experiment design and data analysis to grant submission

Features

Innovative Design

The nVista 2P system features the most compact miniscope from Inscopix, weighing only 2.2 grams. Its unique lightweight and well-balanced footprint allows freely-behaving experiments without compromising the animal’s ability to interact with its environment. The nVista 2P hardware is seamlessly integrated into an innovatively designed mobile workstation, providing researchers the ultimate flexibility and convenience of bringing the instrumentation directly to their experimental setups. The full system includes:

  • Fully integrated platform: nVista 2P is a complete solution for two-photon imaging, including laser, DAQ, and computer
  • Mobile workstation: This ergonomic cart is designed for easy set up and transport to your experiment
  • nVista 2P miniscope camera: The smallest and lightest miniscope camera commercially available for two-photon imaging

New! Miniscopes Accessories Online Store

At the core of every successful calcium imaging study is precise expression and optical access. Bruker offers a comprehensive portfolio of consumables to support your Inscopix miniscopes research, including Gradient Refractive Index (GRIN) lenses and workflow-enhancing kits. These solutions are designed to simplify experimental setup and enable high-resolution imaging in deep brain regions of freely behaving animals. Discover how our reagents and optics can accelerate your path from surgery to insight.

Enhanced Behavior Studies

This new miniscope design brings the benefits of two-photon optics to your behavioral studies. Traditional benchtop systems often need workarounds to recreate specific behaviors, such as joystick and ball running, which require extensive training and can lead to unrealistic behaviors. The nVista 2P solution facilitates two-photon freely-behaving experiments without compromise. When paired with the Inscopix nVision behavior recording system, scientists can now more tightly correlate such natural behaviors as place preference and socialization with neural activity.

Complete Ecosystem

The nVista 2P miniscope is the latest product to join the full Inscopix end-to-end environment, where multi-dimensional data acquisition and analysis become a cohesive experience. Optimized to accelerate imaging success, the nVista 2P workflow leverages Inscopix’s full suite of innovations, such as ready-to-image (RTI) viruses and the ProView Express Kit, which simplify surgical workflows and downstream data analysis through the well-known Inscopix Data Exploration, Analysis, and Sharing (IDEAS) platform. The end-to-end Inscopix environment helps great science happen faster with complete tools and elite scientific support for data acquisition, analysis, and even grant submission.

Software

Inscopix Data Acquisition Software

The Inscopix Data Acquisition Software (IDAS) is a user-friendly interface that helps users streamline experiments from set up to acquisition. IDAS allows neuroscientists to:

  • Control all aspects of their nVista 2P data acquisition
  • Preview outputs to monitor data acquisition
  • Generate rich metadata for easy downstream analysis
  • Setup behavior acquisition (with nVision), controlling initialization and synchronization of external devices through TTL communications

Inscopix Data Exploration, Analysis, and Sharing

IDEAS is a powerful platform that leverages cloud infrastructure to organize large datasets and accelerate computing. It has been optimized to:

  • easily move and organize data
  • repeat workflows across different users
  • process in batch
  • share data with collaborators

The IDEAS platform supports popular analysis tools in the two-photon microscopy field, including Caiman, suite2p, CNMF, CNMFe, and PCA-ICA to analyze data acquired with nVista 2P. The tools in IDEAS are developed and maintained by Inscopix and the scientific community, letting users focus on their experiments without the need to code.
