PEA Air Shower Hatch is used for transfer of materials or animals between a clean and unclean area. The unit comprises of a stainless steel chamber with two or more electrically interlocked doors. A seal encloses each door. If an optional dynamic seal is installed, it seals gas-tight when inflated. The compressed air supply is provided by the customer. A programmable logic controller (PLC) controls and supervises the unit.
At least one button with illuminated ring is installed to operate the unit. Optionally a two-way intercom system, door closers, ioniser and connections for chamber decontamination with hydrogen peroxide gas can also be installed.
It is possible to connect the transfer hatch to the customer’s building management system (BMS).

Functions of PEA air shower

The object to be transferred is placed in the chamber via the lock door. When opening one of the doors, all other doors are electrically interlocked. After closing the door, an air exchange takes place. The supply air enters the chamber from above and leaves it via the side openings in the chamber. During the whole air purge program the doors remain locked. When the air purge program is finished, one of the doors can be opened and the object can be taken out of the chamber.
Abort the purging process at any time by pressing the emergency button.

Special feature of air shower: pneumatic seal

Unlike the static door seal which does not change its form, the condition of the pneumatic seal influences the procedure in the PEA Air Shower Hatch. An air purge can only be started when the pneumatic seal is inflated. The opening of a door is only possible when the pneumatic seal is deflated.
