Bronchospasm transducer (Konzett-Rössler method) - new model

Code 17020UB

Evaluates the spasm-inducing effect of drugs. Typically assesses the effect of bronchodilation agents. Also used for screening substances inducing opposite effects. Simple, reliable and fast method to assess airflow resistance. High precision recording of volume. Available as a complete set up with a rodent ventilator and data acquisition system.

Features
  • Evaluates the spasm-inducing effect of drugs having a very wide range of action, not necessarily on respiratory dynamics.
  • A useful research tool for screening substances inducing the opposite effect, both those causing active bronchodilation in basal conditions and those antagonizing test drugs such as histamine, bradykinin, etc.
  • The experimental layout follows the well-known Konzett-Roessler arrangement with the anaesthetized subject breathing via a reciprocating pump, according to Starling’s mode of operation.

Quick assessment, high precision

  • Provides a simple and reliable method to assess airflow resistance, enabling a quick assessment of the effect of bronchodilators agents.
  • Records the volume with a precision of 0.1ml.
  • Essentially comprises an air flow meter with a water inlet valve and adjustable pressure threshold. The compact measuring device is made from durable Perspex. The controls are conveniently located in a separate electronic enclosure.
  • Create a complete set-up by adding optional animal ventilator and DataCapsule-Evo Recorder or other data acquisition systems.
