AT-58 Optical Air Table

The AT-58 optical air table extends the depth of the TMC vibration isolation table range to 152 cm, giving two-photon and multiphoton imaging rigs additional room around the microscope for cameras, scan heads and other large equipment. Distributed by Sutter Instrument, it offers 25% more bench area than the AT-48 — the preferred choice when the microscope body, laser launch and detection path all need to sit on the same anti-vibration table.

Magnetic Breadboard Tabletop

The plated steel honeycomb core tabletop carries a magnetic top layer with M6 on 25 mm centers tapped holes. A smooth top layer is available on request.

Active Vibration Isolation

An active air suspension system continuously levels the table and isolates it from vertical and horizontal vibration, keeping optical alignments stable during long imaging sessions regardless of building traffic or HVAC activity.

Standalone or Mobile

The AT-58 is available as a fixed standalone table or fitted with leg braces and casters for easier relocation around the lab.

Applications

  • Two-photon and multiphoton microscopy — when a two-photon rig includes a large-format scan head, a Pockels cell or additional beam-shaping optics, the wider 152 cm depth of the AT-58 prevents optical components from overhanging the table edge. It is also the recommended size for three-photon microscopy setups where the longer beam path requires more lateral space.
  • Photomicroscopy and videomicroscopy — camera arms, fibre-coupled illuminators and filter wheels mount directly to the magnetic breadboard, keeping all components on one vibration-isolated plane. This simplifies day-to-day reconfiguration without disturbing aligned optical paths.
  • Large-format optical setups — spatial light modulators, acousto-optic deflectors and multi-port laser combiners all fit on the extended surface, eliminating the need for secondary optical breadboards outside the isolation zone.
