Rat continuous infusion plus blood sampling

A two-channel system for continuous infusion on one channel and low-stress blood sampling on the second.

Catheterize two separate vessels and use a two-channel system to collect manual blood samples outside the cage without touching the animal, all while infusing continuously through a swivel.

The blood collection line uses PE/PVC tubing for minimal evaporation and terminates in a PinPort™ for simple, clean access with a syringe fitted with a PNP3M injector or a Sarstedt capillary collection tube with a PNP3MS connector (arterial pressure is required for capillary collection tubes).

If you are already performing surgery to place the IV dosing catheter, why not take the simple extra step of placing a blood sampling catheter to avoid the pain, stress and labor of peripheral bleeds?

You can take this system a step further by connecting the blood sampling line through a two-channel swivel to an automated blood sampler.
