MPC-365 System, Narrow-Format MP-865 Based Multi-Micromanipulator System

Code MPC-365
The MPC-365 System pairs the MPC-200 controller with one to six MP-865 narrow-format micromanipulators — purpose-built for multi-pipette patch-slice work and space-limited rigs. MP-865 minimizes inter-manipulator width with 50 mm X-axis travel; MPC-200 enables up to 4 manipulators from a single ROE-200 via daisy-chain. Resolution: 62.5 nm.

MPC-365 — Narrow-Format MP-865 Based Multi-Micromanipulator System

The MPC-365 System from Sutter Instrument brings together the MPC-200 multi-manipulator controller and the MP-865 narrow-format micromanipulator — a combination specifically designed for experiments requiring multiple pipettes in dense, space-constrained rigs. The MP-865's minimized width allows more manipulators to be grouped around a single preparation than any standard-format system.

MP-865 Narrow-Format Micromanipulator

  • Minimized mechanical width — maximum density of manipulators around the preparation
  • Extended X-axis travel: 50 mm — fast pipette exchange without repositioning
  • Shortened Y-axis travel: 12.5 mm — sufficient for radial orientation setups
  • Z-axis travel: 25 mm
  • Precision cross-roller bearings and lead-screw design — same quality as MP-845/MP-285
  • Optional narrow-format tower with linear slide or rotating base for mounting flexibility

MPC-200 Controller & ROE-200

  • One MPC-200 drives 1 or 2 MP-865 manipulators
  • Daisy-chain 2× MPC-200 to 1× ROE-200: up to 4 manipulators per ROE
  • Self-detecting — no manual configuration when adding manipulators
  • Electrically quiet: linear power supply minimizes EMI noise
  • Configurable 4th (diagonal) axis — independent angle setting per manipulator
  • Accelerated Mode for fast manual moves; fast robotic Home/Work position moves
  • USB interface — compatible with μManager and Multi-Link software
  • Display shows X, Y, Z coordinates, mode, and active manipulator

Applications of MPC-365 System

  • Multi-electrode patch clamp in brain slices (3+ simultaneous pipettes)
  • Dense electrode arrays in preparations with limited access
  • Dual and triple whole-cell recordings
  • Experiments requiring frequent pipette exchange
  • Space-constrained inverted or upright microscope rigs
