TRIO™ MPC-165 — Narrow-Format 3-Axis Micromanipulator System

The TRIO™ MPC-165 System from Sutter Instrument combines the compact MPC-100 integrated ROE/controller with the MP-865 narrow-format micromanipulator — purpose-designed for patch clamp recordings in brain slices and other multi-pipette setups where bench space and inter-manipulator distance are at a premium.

MP-865 Narrow-Format Micromanipulator

  • Minimized width — allows the greatest number of manipulators to be grouped together around a single preparation
  • Extended X-axis travel: 50 mm — fast and easy pipette exchange without repositioning the entire setup
  • Shortened Y-axis travel: 12.5 mm — radially-oriented manipulators do not require long traverse travel
  • Precision cross-roller bearings and lead-screw design — same high-quality construction as the MP-845
  • Standard 25-pin connector for full controller compatibility

MPC-100 Integrated ROE/Controller

  • Compact, fan-free, silent operation — no rack mount required
  • Position coordinates (relative or absolute) displayed on the ROE
  • Logarithmic acceleration — smooth, intuitive pipette control without speed-mode switching
  • Synthetic 4th axis: 0–90° configurable diagonal motion for axial pipette advancement
  • Y-axis lockout (DIP switch) for X/Z-only movement during Home/Work repositioning
  • Home and Work position memory — reproducible, automated pipette exchange
  • Controls 1 or 2 MP-865 manipulators per MPC-100 unit
  • Pairs with MPC-200 + ROE-200 for up to 4 MP-865 manipulators from a single ROE
